Justin Phillip Reed

Justin Phillip Reed was born and raised in South Carolina. His first full-length collection of poems, Indecency, is forthcoming from Coffee House Press in 2018. His work appears in African American ReviewBest American EssaysCallalooThe Kenyon ReviewObsidian, and elsewhere. He holds a BA in creative writing from Tusculum College and an MFA in poetry from Washington University in St. Louis, where he also served as Junior Writer-in-Residence. The author of the chapbook A History of Flamboyance (YesYes Books, 2016), he has received fellowships from the Cave Canem Foundation and the Conversation Literary Festival. He lives in St. Louis.
